Zambo: The Zambo Basic Education District (CEB) organized, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the final of the athletics competitions and cultural activities conducted by the office of the Organization of Sport, Culture and Recreation in Primary School (OSCLEP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, these sporting and cultural activities brought together several schools from the CEB of Zambo in the presence of administrative authorities, teachers, and parents of students. On the grounds of the Zambo school, the girls and boys competed in sprinting and long jump events, in a fraternal atmosphere.
At the same time, the finals of the cultural competitions were taking place with troupes from the different schools in the town. The program of performances included theater, recital, traditional dance, archery, popular choir, and storytelling.
The Zouolo school emerged victorious in several categories, securing first prize in traditional dance, popular choir, and archery. The Bontioli school excelled in recital and storytelling, while the Zambo school took first place in theater. The students' performances impressed the jury members with their creativity and commitment.
Momo Si© Nansou, the headmaster of the Bolkp¨ school in Kpankpir¨, emphasized the importance of these activities by stating, "Sport and culture prepare minds and bodies for work. A well-rounded student is one who knows how to run, jump, but also how to express themselves and create."
District chief K´g Narcisse Hien remarked, "athletics shapes the body and culture shapes the mind." He highlighted the need for schools to promote both athletic performance and cultural development among their students.
