Mass Wedding: Twelve Couples United for Life in Orodara

Orodara: The special delegation of the urban commune of Orodara celebrated, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, the third edition of the collective marriage for the benefit of twelve couples, during a ceremony held under the patronage of the film director and producer Apolline Traor©. This social initiative aims to support people in regularizing their unions and to promote family values and social cohesion within the community.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Orodara, Emmanuel Konat©, stated that this activity reflects the will of the municipal authorities to contribute to the well-being and development of families. "Marriage is the foundation of the family and social stability. Through this initiative, we want to encourage couples to formalize their union in order to strengthen family cohesion and responsibility within households," he said. The PDS also welcomed the strong mobilization of partners, families, and people who came to support the newlyweds.

The 12 beneficiary couples expressed their gratitude to the special delegation for this initiative, which they consider an important support in their married life. The godmother, Apolline Traor©, was delighted to be associated with this celebration dedicated to the promotion of the family. She encouraged the new couples to prioritize dialogue, mutual respect, and understanding in order to build stable and harmonious homes. "Marriage is based on trust, communication, and mutual respect. When dialogue exists in a home, difficulties can be overcome peacefully and amicably," she advised.

Finally, the Secretary General of the K©n©dougou province, Bassanma Ko, congratulated the couples for their commitment and encouraged other unions still living in the informal sector to regularize their situation before the civil registrar.
