Meguet: The population of the Bouenivouhoun area, in the commune of Bondoukuy, demonstrated on Thursday, May 14, 2026, their solidarity with the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and the Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) of the locality, through a significant contribution of food and cash estimated at more than one million FCFA.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was presided over by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Bondoukuy, Lazare Bado, and attended by, among others, the military detachment, the Bondoukuy Road Safety and Intervention Squadron, the Water and Forestry Service, the territorial gendarmerie brigade, customary authorities, and the population. The initiative is led by the citizen watch sub-section of Bouenivouhoun with the support of the population, under the coordination of the National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC), Bondoukuy section.

Community mobilization made it possible to collect 29 bags of food and a sum of more than 200,000 FCFA intended for the VDP. To this contribution was added that of Oumarou Sabo, son of the locality, who offered a financial package of 1 million 500 thousand FCFA, of which one million FCFA for the benefit of the VDP and 500,000 FCFA intended for the CSPS of Bouenivouhoun.

Traditional chiefs, members of the Village Development Council (CVD), and local women expressed their gratitude to the national authorities for the actions undertaken in the context of the reconquest of the national territory. They also praised the efforts made by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the VDP in securing the area and the gradual return of social peace.

The representative of the coordinator of the CNAVC Bondoukuy section, Zakaria Konat©, congratulated the citizen watch sub-section of Bouenivouhoun and the people for their patriotic commitment. He invited residents to maintain the spirit of civic vigilance, to strengthen social dialogue and collaboration between communities and VDP, in a spirit of social cohesion and solidarity.

The PDS of Bondoukuy praised the resilience of the population and the commitment of citizen watchdogs. He urged them to continue community initiatives in favor of peace, living together and strengthening social cohesion in the municipality.
