Oudalan: The General Education College (CEG) of Essakane, located in the province of Oudalan, organized its Day of Academic and Cultural Excellence alongside the Director’s Cup on Saturday, May 23, 2026, to reward 24 top-performing students. The event aimed to promote discipline, culture, and social cohesion among students.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was held under the patronage of Ofene AG Tiwara, CEO of Compagnie Oufen et Freres (COF), and was attended by various administrative, educational, customary, and religious authorities, along with teachers, parents, and guests. Each of the top students was awarded school kits and cash prizes for their diligence and outstanding academic results. The accolade of best student was presented to Mahamadou Pafadnam, who achieved an annual average score of 18.95 out of 20. He received three school kits and a cash prize of 115,000 FCFA in recognition of his remarkable performance.
Ardjima Dambina, the director of Essakane CEG, highlighted the significance of the event in celebrating academic merit and fostering cultural and sporting talents. He emphasized that rewarding excellence motivates students to believe in the value of effort, discipline, and perseverance. Mr. Dambina also praised the dedication of teachers and administrative staff throughout the school year and expressed gratitude to parents and partners for their support.
In his address to the students, Mr. Dambina congratulated the awardees and encouraged other students to continue striving in their studies. He wished the middle school students a pleasant holiday and urged those preparing for exams to remain calm and focused. Ofene AG Tiwara, the event’s sponsor, commended the school staff for organizing the initiative, which he believes fosters education, culture, and sport. He encouraged students to develop courage, discipline, and a commitment to their studies for future success.
