Bogand©: A solemn raising of the colors at the BIR 19 was presided over by the High Commissioner of the Gnagna province, Jean Baptiste Beogo, this Monday. The event took place at the 19th Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR 19) during its rotating ceremony for the raising of the national colors.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony began at 6:45 a.m. as the province's constituted bodies passed through the main gate of the BIR 19 barracks to participate in this republican tradition. The event is part of a rotation among various administrative offices and facilities in Bogand©.
As administrative, military, and paramilitary authorities, along with other guests, settled in for the event, an unexpected alert sounded within the barracks. Demonstrating their readiness and professionalism, the BIR 19 units swiftly deployed to the affected area, showcasing their commitment to protecting the population and maintaining the integrity of the national territory.
The ceremony proceeded with a strong sense of determination and patriotism. At precisely 7:00 a.m., Captain Lynx commanded the raising of the national flag before the assembled authorities and combat forces.
During the event, Lieutenant Orion presented a history of the BIR 19 and detailed the main missions of the Rapid Intervention Battalions. These include counter-terrorism efforts, securing the national territory, protecting people and property, conducting offensive operations against armed terrorist groups, escorting supply convoys, and supporting other defense and security operations.
Captain Lynx, commander of BIR 19, reaffirmed his unit's commitment to addressing security challenges in Gnagna province while continuing their mission to defend the national territory.
High Commissioner Jean Baptiste Beogo congratulated the command and all members of BIR 19 for their dedication in fighting terrorism. He praised their sense of duty, courage, and unwavering commitment to serving the nation.
Additionally, participants were informed about maintenance work on the Bogand©-Andemtenga road, particularly concerning the bridges in advanced disrepair. The resumption of paving work on National Route 18 also garnered significant interest among attendees.
