Houet: Thirteen-year-old Prisca Sawadogo, who lost both hands in a house fire in her village of Nongo, has earned her Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) in the 2026 session in the commune of Barsalogho. This victory over adversity now opens the doors to secondary school for her.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Prisca's achievement is remarkable given the challenges she has faced. After a tragic domestic accident that resulted in the loss of both hands, Prisca turned her disability into a catalyst for success rather than a hindrance.

Her teachers describe her as disciplined and studious, with her main challenge being the drawing of geometric figures, a task for which she occasionally requires assistance.

"I want to go to college like the other girls my age," Prisca expressed, visibly moved by the announcement of her results from the Barsalogho Centre school.

Prisca's success contributes to an overall positive performance for the municipality of Barsalogho in the current session. The Barsalogho 1 CEB reported a success rate of 91.32% with 288 candidates, while Barsalogho 2 CEB achieved an 80.62% success rate with 129 candidates.

These achievements are credited to the resilience of the educational community, which has thrived despite challenging security conditions.
