Ouahigouya: Traditional and customary chiefs of the Yaadga region were sensitized on the Faso bu-kaoor© law during a workshop held from June 15 to 17 in Ouahigouya and committed to an effective application of the law in their royal jurisdiction, AIB observed.
According to Burkina Information Agency, as part of the proper implementation of the Faso bu-kaoor© law, traditional leaders from the Yaadga region received training. For three days, these chiefs immersed themselves in the fundamental principles governing this law.
At the end of the workshop, the representative of the customary leaders, Toogo Naaba Koanga, announced that the traditional and customary authorities had committed to implementing it in their respective localities. “They will serve as relay points for those who were unable to participate in this session,” he said.
At the closing ceremony, Governor Thomas Yampa of the Yaadga region, speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Justice, commended the strong turnout of traditional chiefs, which he considered proof of the interest the Faso bu-kaoor© law has generated among them. He apologized for the working conditions and promised improvements for future sessions.
‘We promise a thorough review of the recommendations addressed to the Ministry of Justice. I can assure you that the actors of administrative justice will stand by your side for the proper administration of justice in your respective localities,’ he said.
Participants were encouraged to raise awareness among the public to alleviate the burden on the courts. Summaries of hearings, petitions, and speeches were provided to the traditional and customary authorities who benefited from the training.
