Kangala Community Unites for Environmental Re-Greening Efforts

Kenedougou: The commune of Kangala celebrated the 8th edition of the National Tree Day through a tree planting operation in several sacred groves in the locality, under the theme: “My concession, my tree”. The event was chaired by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality, Luc Hien. On this occasion, the head of the municipality called on the population to make environmental protection a shared responsibility.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Luc Hien emphasized the importance of trees as a heritage for both current and future generations due to their crucial role in combating desertification, conserving biodiversity, and enhancing living conditions. Hien stated, “Planting trees should not be a one-off event. Every citizen must commit to planting, but above all to maintaining the trees so that they can contribute sustainably to the well-being of the population.”

The PDS acknowledged the strong mobilization of participants for the event and urged each household to embrace the theme of this edition by planting at least one tree in their concession or immediate surroundings.
