Koudougou: In a significant demonstration of national solidarity, residents of the Nando region in Hounde have extended substantial support to the “Faso Mªbo” project, reflecting the spirit advocated by Burkina Faso’s leadership. The local community came together on Saturday to donate crucial resources aimed at advancing urban development efforts in their locality.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation, led by Marcelin Ouedraogo, contributed 40 tons of crushed gravel, 30 tons of sand, half a ton of rice, and essential supplies such as cans of oil and personal protective equipment for workers at the site. This initiative is a response to the call from the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, who has urged all Burkinab¨ to actively participate in nation-building. Ouedraogo highlighted the importance of unity in development efforts, encouraging others from the region to sustain this spirit of solidarity.
The donation has been a source of relief for the project beneficiaries. Pascal Bako, part of the Faso Mªbo Nando regional coordination team, expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, noting the pressing shortage of granite that had been impeding their progress. The provided 40 tons of gravel will enable the resumption of work, although Bako stressed the ongoing need for resources and appealed for further community support to avert future shortages.
During the handover ceremony, Marcelin Ouedraogo underscored the significance of national unity in achieving a peaceful and prosperous Burkina Faso. He emphasized that collaboration is key to countering division and building a nation that future generations can be proud of. The donors expressed satisfaction in contributing to the project’s success, reinforcing their commitment to the development of their community.
