Tapoa Mobilizes for National Tree Day, 2026 Edition


Tapoa: The province’s driving forces mobilized for Tree Day. Like other provinces of Burkina Faso, Tapoa celebrated the National Tree Day, 2026 edition, this Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Diapaga town hall, under the aegis of the province’s secretary general, Martin Zoundi. The ceremony took place in the presence of administrative, military, and paramilitary authorities, local authorities as well as representatives of civil society organizations.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Secretary General Martin Zoundi stated that this activity is part of the “A Patriotic Hour to Green Up Burkina Faso” initiative. He emphasized that Tapoa could not remain on the sidelines of this patriotic movement aimed at combating desertification, restoring vegetation cover, mitigating the effects of climate change, and improving the living conditions of the population.



After the symbolic planting of seedlings, Zoundi encouraged the participants to ensure the success of the day, underscoring the slogan: “One Burkinabe, one tree planted and cared for.” During the event, plants were distributed to the heads of decentralized state services as well as military and paramilitary authorities for use in their respective services.



The ceremony concluded at Diapaga town hall with the secretary general expressing gratitude to the participants for their mobilization despite time constraints. He also acknowledged the dedication of the special delegation of Diapaga, which managed to gather plants on short notice. Special recognition was given to the ADLP association for their generous provision of the plants used for planting.



The event, marked by a spirit of camaraderie, concluded with a family photo to commemorate the occasion.
