Koudougou: As part of the 8th edition of the National Tree Day (JNA), the mission officer of the Presidency of Faso to the Nando region, Pema Neya, took part on June 20, 2026, in a reforestation operation on the production site of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) agricultural in Koudougou. To mark this day dedicated to environmental preservation, 967 plants of various species were planted under the supervision of comrade Neya.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this activity, led by project manager Pema Neya, goes beyond simply protecting nature to become part of a broader movement toward sovereignty. Neya emphasized that the initiative is not merely an agricultural act, but a patriotic commitment to food sovereignty, the fight against desertification, and the preservation of Burkina Faso's natural heritage.
Pema Neya praised the vision of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, by highlighting that each plant planted represents an act of resistance against environmental degradation and a milestone in building a resilient and prosperous Burkina Faso. The authority expressed gratitude to the agricultural VDP and the active forces whose mobilization contributed to the success of the operation.
"Planting a tree is defending life. Planting a tree is serving the Nation. Planting a tree is believing in Burkina Faso," concluded Pema Neya, inviting the people to continue this momentum to ensure a sustainable future for future generations.
