Zero Drops of Blood on the Road Association Celebrates Year of Mobilization in Faso Mªbo

Ouagadougou: The citizen association Z©ro Goutte de Sang sur la Route (Zero Drops of Blood on the Road) marked a year of active participation in the Faso Mªbo initiative's activities through its program, "A Sunday for Burkina Faso," this Sunday in Ouagadougou. The celebration included a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony and the presentation of certificates of appreciation to members involved in this civic endeavor. Association leaders highlighted that this celebration aims to recognize the efforts of volunteers, express gratitude to the Faso Mªbo initiative for the platform it offers citizens to contribute to national development, and motivate other civil society organizations to join this patriotic movement.

According to Burkina Information Agency, since June 2025, around one hundred volunteer members have gathered every Sunday morning at the Faso Mªbo site, located at the Lyc©e Philippe Zinda Kabor©, to take part in the work of making, demolding, storing, and transporting paving stones for infrastructure development.

The association's president, Moumini Koudougou, emphasized that promoting road safety is intrinsically linked to improving road infrastructure. "A degraded road is also a source of accidents. Raising awareness among users while contributing to the construction of safer roads is therefore part of the same mission," explained the president. He further added that patriotism is primarily expressed through concrete actions, stating, "We will continue this momentum by combining road safety and responsible citizenship."

Alexandre Kabor©, the representative of the Faso Mªbo Agency, commended the association's unwavering commitment and encouraged Burkinabe youth to emulate this example of civic responsibility and participation in national development.

According to the association's top officials, the annual expenses for the "A Sunday for Burkina Faso" initiative amount to approximately six million CFA francs, funded entirely by voluntary contributions from members. Beyond its regular participation in Faso Mªbo's activities, the association donated five tons of cement to the initiative on June 22, 2025.

Established to promote road safety and civic responsibility, the association Z©ro Goutte de Sang sur la Route is committed to significantly reducing traffic accidents in Burkina Faso.
