Gourma: The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Fada N’Gourma, Kampadiba J©r´me Idani, presided over the accountability day on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, dedicated to the management of the year 2025 of the commune. This meeting allowed municipal officials to report to the population on the actions carried out during the 2025 financial year, in accordance with the principles of good governance, transparency, and citizen participation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the commune’s annual investment plan for the year 2025 amounted to approximately 2.4 billion CFA francs. These resources have enabled the implementation and undertaking of several actions in basic social sectors, including education, health, sanitation, and the strengthening of the institutional capacities of the municipality.
Mr. Idani indicated that despite a context marked by security constraints and demographic pressure linked to the reception of internally displaced persons, the municipality has continued its efforts to improve the living conditions of the population through the construction of infrastructure and local services. He added that the overall execution rate of the 2025 management plan is 67.28%, reflecting the level of implementation of activities planned during the past year.
The discussions also allowed citizens to express their concerns and formulate recommendations. These include improving access to drinking water, strengthening sanitation and hygiene actions, and accelerating the completion of certain socio-economic infrastructures. On behalf of the participants, Denise Ou´ba/Tankoano welcomed the initiative of the day which promotes transparency in the management of local affairs. She particularly appreciated the explanations provided by the municipal officials regarding the achievements made and the challenges encountered.
Kampadiba J©r´me Idani reaffirmed his institution’s commitment to pursuing development actions for the benefit of the population. He invited citizens to take greater ownership of the gains of decentralization and to support the municipality in preserving the infrastructure built. This day of accountability is part of the dynamic of promoting participatory local governance and strengthening dialogue between municipal authorities and the population.
