Dj´r´ Governor Urges Baccalaureate Candidates to Uphold Integrity

Dj´r´: The governor of the Dj´r´ region, Siaka Barro, addressed the 3,416 candidates of the 2026 baccalaureate session, urging them to exhibit integrity, self-confidence, and perseverance to achieve better results and elevate Dj´r´ among the top performing regions in Burkina Faso. He emphasized the importance of focusing on goals and avoiding any form of academic dishonesty during the exams.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Comrade Barro highlighted that the number of candidates has decreased from over 3,600 in 2025 to 3,416 in 2026. He attributed this decline to the improving security situation, which has enabled displaced students to return to their home areas, and the growing interest of young people in technical and vocational training establishments.

The governor acknowledged the contributions of the education system actors, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in facilitating the smooth conduct of the exams. He also praised the determination of a candidate who, after giving birth the night before the exams, was present first thing in the morning to take her test, highlighting her as an example of perseverance.

Pawin Som©, the regional director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training of Dj´r´, reported that this year, the region has registered 3,416 candidates, including 1,919 boys and 1,497 girls. The exams are organized across six localities-Gaoua, Kampti, Lorop©ni, Bati©, and Dissin-spread over 15 juries.

Comrade Som© noted that candidates are from both general education series (A, C, and D) and technical and professional streams. He pointed out a major innovation for this session: the inclusion of 11 candidates from the F4 series (industrial civil engineering) for the first time in the region.

Education officials expressed their commitment to improving the performance from the previous sessions and encouraged candidates to maintain discipline and integrity throughout the examination process.
