Nazinon: 3,248 candidates from the Nazinon region began the written exams for the 2026 baccalaureate session on Tuesday. This number is down by 173 candidates compared to the 2025 session, during which 3,421 candidates were registered.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the exams were launched by the governor of the Nazinon region, Massadalo Yvette Nacoulma. The region registered 3,248 candidates this year, including 1,798 girls and 1,450 boys, across all academic tracks. In total, 1,036 candidates are taking the exams in the Baz¨ga province, 1,044 in Nahouri, and 1,168 in Zoundw©ogo. The candidates are divided into the A4, D, C, F3, and G2 series, as well as the vocational baccalaureate programs in electrotechnics and civil engineering-construction.
The governor of the Nazinon region encouraged the candidates as well as the entire educational community mobilized for the organization of the baccalaureate. She emphasized the importance of the baccalaureate as a significant step in the academic journey of the candidates, marking the culmination of many years of effort. Additionally, she stressed the importance of adhering to the exam rules, particularly the prohibition of communication between candidates during exams.
According to the regional director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training of Nazinon, Dj¨n¨ba Ou©draogo, all organizational arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth running of the exam. The decrease in the number of candidates compared to the previous year could be attributed to school dropouts linked to gold panning, as well as early pregnancies and early marriages among some young girls. She expressed gratitude to those involved in education, particularly teachers, educational supervisors, and all those mobilized for the successful running of this session.
