According to Burkina Information Agency, the Catholic Christian community in the Gaongo sector of the Baz¨ga province gathered on Sunday, June 21, 2026, to commemorate the patronal feast of the Saint John chapel. The event was marked by the presence of various religious leaders from the Gaongo center, highlighting the importance of the celebration to the local community.
The thanksgiving mass, led by Father Albert Ou©draogo, attracted Catholic faithful from the Gaongo sector who joyously praised God. Parish priest and catechist of Gaongo Centre, Pierre Compaor©, expressed delight in the recognition of divine grace and appreciated the participation of religious leaders from other communities, viewing it as a sign of interreligious dialogue, harmonious coexistence, and social cohesion.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, Father Albert Ou©draogo laid the foundation stone for a new grotto, a project valued at 11,000,000 CFA francs. The day’s celebrations concluded with a fair, which engaged the population of Gaongo throughout the day.
