ENESA Launches Certified Training Courses to Boost Livestock Farming Skills

Sissili: The National School of Livestock and Animal Health (ENESA) has officially launched its short-term certification training sessions in Ouagadougou, aimed at enhancing the skills of individuals in the livestock sector to promote their professional integration.

According to Burkina Information Agency, C©cile Saramb©, Director of Continuing Education at ENESA, stated that these courses align with the authorities' vision of using vocational training as a tool for economic and social transformation. "For some time now, ENESA has been initiating short-term certification training courses focused on professions related to the demand from stakeholders for capacity building and skilled workers," she explained.

Ms. Saramb© highlighted that the institution has successfully trained over 1,000 individuals over the past three years, in partnership with various entities, including 217 members of the Defense and Security Forces through the Presidential Initiative for Agricultural Production.

In 2026, ENESA plans to offer four training sessions focusing on the roles of fish farmers, farm managers, and fry producers. These courses, which integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application, will be conducted at ENESA's demonstration farm in Boulbi.

The Director of Continuing Education emphasized that these opportunities are available to a wide audience, including young graduates, agricultural entrepreneurs, employees from both public and private sectors, as well as retirees interested in career shifts. "ENESA's vision is to combine theory with practice to move towards a school-business model and thus guarantee the employability and professional integration of trained professionals," Ms. Saramb© stated, encouraging industry stakeholders to enroll in the programs.

She also announced that starting from the 2026-2027 academic year, ENESA will broaden its offerings by introducing new initial training cycles and developing additional continuing education courses across various livestock sectors.
