Ouagadougou: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo chaired the second ordinary session of the 2026 Patriotic Support Fund Steering Committee (CO-FSP) on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. The session focused on reviewing and adopting the Fund's second-quarter 2026 management report and allocating resources to beneficiaries.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Prime Minister, in his opening address, emphasized the collective commitment to exemplary management of the resources mobilized for national defense. He acknowledged the contributions of various stakeholders to the success of the Patriotic Support Fund, which he believes exemplifies the Burkinab¨ people's dedication to national causes.
The Prime Minister reported that as of June 28, 2026, the Fund had mobilized resources amounting to 162.388 billion FCFA, achieving 81.19% of the annual goal of 200 billion FCFA. This signifies a 66.73% increase compared to the same period in 2025 and a 258.49% rise from the first quarter of 2026. Such results demonstrate public confidence and the efficiency of the mobilization mechanisms in place.
The resources have been crucial in addressing the priority needs of the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland and enhancing the operational capabilities of field forces.
While praising the resource mobilization, the Head of Government highlighted the importance of consolidating achievements and intensifying efforts, especially in terms of resource mobilization, transparency, accountability, and procedure dematerialization to maintain contributor confidence.
He urged ongoing collaboration among public institutions, the private sector, civil society organizations, and citizens, promoting responsibility and determination. The Prime Minister encouraged continued contributions to the "chain of solidarity, patriotism, and civic engagement," a key strength of the Burkinab¨ people.
This session also saw four new organizations joining the FSP Steering Committee: the Center for Information, Training and Studies on the Budget (CIFOEB), the Organization for Capacity Building for Development (ORCADE), the National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC), and the Federation of Regional Television Stations of Burkina Faso. Their inclusion aims to enhance the Fund's governance through diversity, credibility, and representativeness.
The increasing engagement with the Patriotic Support Fund highlights the Burkinab¨ commitment to making civic engagement a pivotal tool in addressing current challenges and building a resilient and sovereign nation.
