Tougan Center Honors Top Students with Awards Ceremony

Ouagadougou: The Tougan Center for the Development of Children and Youth (CDEJ BF0497) held a Day of Excellence on June 30, 2026, in conjunction with the Day of the African Child, to honor its top-performing students. The event was attended by the Vice-President of the Tougan Special Delegation, Siaka Boro, alongside religious leaders and school principals.

According to Burkina Information Agency, a total of 18 students from primary and sixth-grade levels were recognized and rewarded with school supplies and bicycles. The awards aim to emphasize the importance of academic achievement and encourage the holistic growth of children.

Kiswendyinga Rene Yameogo, Team Leader of CDEJ BF0497 from the Central Church of the Christian Alliance of Tougan, stated that the event was initiated to motivate students to excel academically and to remind parents of their role as protectors and supporters of their children's education.

Among the recipients was Acha Drabo, a sixth-grade student from Tougan municipal high school, who expressed her happiness and commitment to maintaining her academic efforts. "I am very happy. I will work harder to deserve the trust placed in me and achieve better results," she stated, expressing gratitude to the donors.

The vice-president of the special delegation, Siaka Boro, representing the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Tougan, Ouigou Tiendrebeogo, commended the initiative. He emphasized the importance of education, stating, "Our country has made education its priority. No child should be deprived of school, whatever the reason. I congratulate the Centre for this initiative and I invite everyone to make the education of our children a priority. Never abandon a child."
