Guiriko: Comrade Minister of Justice, Master Edasso Rodrigue Bayala, paid a courtesy visit to the canton chief, supreme chief of the Bobo-Mandarª, His Majesty Sidiki Sanou this Friday and presided over the ceremony of the installation of the traditional bodies for the settlement of disputes in the Guiriko region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, as a prelude to the installation of traditional dispute resolution bodies in Guiriko, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Edasso Rodrigue Bayala, accompanied by Governor Mariama Gnanou/Konate, paid a courtesy visit to the canton chief this Friday, July 3, 2026, in the heart of the founding village-neighbourhood of Sya. He then presided over the official ceremony for the installation of the traditional dispute settlement bodies, which comes after three days of work with the traditional and customary actors of Guiriko.

In his address, the minister emphasized the importance of the Faso Bu-Kaore law, which aligns with the aspirations of the people. "Its ambition is clear: it aims to offer our people a more accessible, less expensive justice system that is in line with their socio-cultural realities," he stated. He recalled that this law is inspired by ancestral justice which is built "on our ancestral values, a justice where there are neither losers nor winners, but where peace, social cohesion, and the strengthening of community ties prevail."

By officially handing over the registers to the guarantors of customs and traditions, the comrade minister officially marked the operationalization of the endogenous mechanisms for settling disputes in the Guiriko region.
