Ouagadougou: Student Roger Kabore successfully defended his doctoral thesis in pharmacy on Friday in Ouagadougou. His thesis focused on factors associated with customer satisfaction in pharmacies in the Burkinabe capital. The jury awarded him the highest distinction, congratulations, making him a Doctor of Pharmacy.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the defense took place at the Training and Research Unit in Health Sciences (UFR/SDS) of the Joseph Ki-Zerbo University, around the theme: "Factors associated with customer satisfaction in pharmacies in the city of Ouagadougou." This research aimed to identify the determinants of user satisfaction in Ouagadougou pharmacies. It presents itself as a contribution to improving the quality of pharmaceutical services in Burkina Faso.
The applicant's work establishes that almost all users say they are satisfied with the availability of medicines in pharmacies and with the advice given by pharmacists and pharmacy assistants in the pharmaceutical outlets of the capital. However, those surveyed want an increase in the number of on-call pharmacies.
Reacting to these findings, the thesis co-director, Dr. Jean Kabore, a member of the jury, stated that they align with the missions of the National Order of Pharmacists, which aim to facilitate public access to pharmacies. The study's conclusions are consistent with the recent measures implemented by the National Council of the Order of Pharmacists in the Central region to strengthen on-call services, increasing the number of on-call pharmacies from 60 to 120 between July 4, 2026, and November 21, 2026.
Following the presentation, the jury deemed the document acceptable, while formulating observations on form and substance to be integrated into the final version. He then awarded the candidate the highest distinction with congratulations from the jury, before allowing him to take the Galenic oath.
Roger Kabore was proclaimed a Doctor of Pharmacy by Professor Rasmane Semde, following the swearing-in ceremony. His research was supervised by Professor Boumbewendin Gerard Josias Yameogo.
