Oubri: The coordinating committee for mandatory patriotic immersion is in contact with regional stakeholders as the Oubri region hosted a mission from the national coordination of the compulsory patriotic immersion (IPO) in Ziniare, focusing on the preparations for the upcoming edition.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was chaired by Assetou Barry, the governor of the Oubri region, and included members of the national mission along with various regional technical services such as secondary education, police, and health. The primary goals were to share information about the 2026 edition with organizers, offer official guidance, and address concerns from regional structures to enhance the program's implementation.

During the session, Tayoub Ould Targui from the national delegation emphasized the significance of patriotic immersion in fostering discipline and civic responsibility among young people. He assured attendees of the measures in place to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the conscripts, highlighting a zero-tolerance policy that includes mandatory pregnancy tests for girls at specific intervals of the program. Furthermore, he noted a terminology update, replacing 'immersed' with 'called up,' following the Prime Minister's directive for uniformity in official language.

The selected venues for hosting participants are Bassy High School in Ziniare and the National Development Service (SND) site in Loumbila. Regional director of secondary education, Dramane Derme, voiced several concerns at the meeting, notably the shortage of latrines and sleeping facilities.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to fortify the organization of the mandatory patriotic immersion program and to instill values of discipline, civic responsibility, and patriotism in the participants. The program targets 2025 high school graduates who missed the previous edition and the graduates of 2026.
