Ouagadougou: Presiding over the 9th ceremony honoring the Father of the Sankara Revolution and his twelve companions, the Minister in charge of the Economy, Aboubakar Nacanabo, made his personal contribution to the "My Brick for Sankara" initiative on Thursday in Ouagadougou, offering the sum of one million CFA francs, while calling on all those who carry the Sankara ideal to support this campaign.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister emphasized that the memorial is more than just a stone monument; it represents a promise to the future and a tangible memory they refuse to let fade away. Minister Nacanabo stated, "As a citizen, I promise to make available to the 'My Brick for Sankara' campaign the sum of one million CFA francs."

Nacanabo highlighted that honoring Thomas Sankara involves more than just uttering his name; it requires extending his work, transforming admiration into commitment, and making his memory an actionable endeavor. He remarked that "Thomas Sankara is one of those whom time has not managed to defeat. The more years pass, the more his memory is affirmed."

The minister called upon all Burkinabe citizens and friends of Burkina Faso to contribute to the construction of the memorial dedicated to the leader of the 1984 Burkinabe Revolution.

Minister in charge of Culture, Pingdwende Gilbert Ouedraogo, also spoke at the event, noting the regular influx of visitors to the Thomas Sankara Memorial since its inauguration. He underscored the importance of mobilizing and remaining vigilant against the Republic's adversaries, urging attendees to "encourage each other and close ranks so that our victory is permanent."
