Dokuy: The rural commune of Dokuy has welcomed the arrival of subsidized fertilizers for its agricultural producers, an initiative aimed at reducing costs and improving access to essential farming inputs. On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, the community received its second shipment of subsidized fertilizer, consisting of 25 tonnes of urea and 18 tonnes of NPK, as confirmed by area chief Karim Zida.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative is part of a partnership with the Integrated Development of Maize, Soybean, Poultry, and Fish Value Chains and Resilience Project (PIMSAR). The project aims to provide farmers with affordable fertilizers, offering each subsidized bag at a price of 17,000 CFA francs. Efforts have been made to ensure that the distribution process is conducted under optimal conditions to benefit the local agricultural sector.

The reception of these fertilizers has been met with positive responses from the beneficiaries. Seydou Sangare from Ayoubakolon expressed contentment with the availability of low-cost fertilizers in the commune, highlighting their accessibility to all farmers. Similarly, Catherine Zongo, a producer from Denissa-Mossi, praised the organization of the distribution efforts.

Despite the positive reception, the available stock has been deemed insufficient, leaving some farmers without the necessary supplies. The limited quantity has resulted in certain producers leaving empty-handed, underscoring the need for an increased supply to meet the demand of the agricultural community.
