Fara: In the department of Fara, the national colors flew during the celebration of the second anniversary of the AES. The prefect of the Fara department, Aloys OUANGO, presided over the flag-raising ceremony at the town hall on Monday, July 6, 2026. This solemn flag-raising ceremony was attended by members of the special delegation, constituted bodies, and citizen watch.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the raising of the colors was followed by the reading of the message from the President of Faso, who is also the Head of State and President of the Confederation of Sahel States. The Confederation, known as AES, brings together Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, and Fara's participation in this flag-raising ceremony mirrored that of other departments across the country.

Following the raising of the national flag, Prefect Aloys OUANGO read the message from the President of Burkina Faso. In his message, the President, also leading the Confederation of Sahel States, paid tribute to his counterparts Assimi Goita of Mali and Abdourahmane Tiani of Niger for their significant actions during their terms.

Furthermore, Comrade Ibrahim Traor© called upon the people of the region to unite and demonstrate a strong commitment to achieving common goals.
