Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of Boulgou Province, Constantin Domegbeguere Dabire, visited Sabtenga in the municipality of Tenkodogo to commend the community for its commitment to building a culvert, constructing a canopy at the Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS), and carrying out road rehabilitation work, all using their own funds. Coordinated by local community watch groups, these projects, totaling 7.8 million CFA francs, demonstrate the community's desire to contribute to local development.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the youth of Sabtenga, supported by all the inhabitants and under the coordination of the citizen watch led by Oudou Sorgho, have undertaken several community projects aimed at improving the living conditions of the population. Among the projects completed is a culvert, built at a cost of 2.5 million FCFA, to facilitate the movement of people and goods, particularly during the rainy season. Residents also invested 1.3 million FCFA in the rehabilitation of a road deemed essential for mobility within the village.
Furthermore, a canopy was erected at the Sabtenga CSPS at a cost of 4 million FCFA. The infrastructure now offers a more suitable reception area for patients and their companions. During his visit to the works, the High Commissioner of Boulgou congratulated the people of Sabtenga for their initiative and their high sense of civic responsibility.
He praised the strong involvement of young people and the unifying role of citizen oversight in mobilizing human and financial resources for these projects. Constantin Domegbeguere Dabire noted that these achievements prove that united and committed communities can provide concrete solutions to their priority needs.
Oudou Sorgho, the coordinator of the citizen watch program in Sabtenga, explained that these infrastructures are the result of a voluntary mobilization of the village's sons and daughters. He urged the residents to preserve the structures and maintain this spirit of solidarity to meet other development challenges.
Through these projects, entirely funded by the community, Sabtenga exemplifies a model of participatory development based on solidarity and civic engagement.
