K©n©dougou: The new graduates of the Samorogouan Departmental High School marked their academic success with an eco-citizen action on Monday, July 13, 2026, by planting twenty-three plants of various species within the grounds of their school.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative involved students who passed the Baccalaureate exams in the A and D streams in 2026. The activity, initiated by the head teacher of the final year A stream, Abdoulaye Hi©, was held under the patronage of the school principal, San Lamoussa Traor©, with the support of the school council chaired by Lacole Traor©. It mobilized the school administration, teaching staff, parents, students, and forestry officials.

Through this tree planting, the new graduates expressed their gratitude to their teachers and all those who contributed to their success. They also wanted to leave a lasting mark on their former learning environment while participating in the reforestation and beautification efforts of the school.

According to its initiator, Abdoulaye Hi©, this initiative is part of the momentum surrounding the 8th National Tree Day, launched on June 20, 2026, under the theme: "My Concession, My Tree." It reflects the youth's support for national environmental preservation initiatives. Beyond its symbolic significance, the activity strengthened ties between students, teachers, parents, and technical services.
