Ouagadougou: The High Commission of the province of Sangui, led by Talari Germaine Ouoba, organized a significant session aimed at mobilizing the community to welcome 1,289 high school graduates for the 2026 mandatory patriotic immersion in Ro. This event, held on July 17, sought to engage local stakeholders in supporting this civic initiative through contributions in cash, kind, and equipment. An initial collection raised 102,500 FCFA.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the mandatory patriotic immersion program was established by the government in 2025 under the Presidential Initiative for Quality Education to promote civic education among young people. The 2026 edition targets baccalaureate holders from 2026, as well as those from 2025 who were unable to complete their immersion. Sangui will host the participants from July 27 to August 28, 2026, at the Plateau school complex and the Ro provincial multipurpose high school.

Talari Germaine Ouoba urged citizens to mobilize resources to ensure the initiative's success, aligning with Captain Ibrahim Traor's vision of using education to drive economic and social development. Rasmata GrSce Guingan, the Provincial Director of Secondary Education, announced that 1,289 graduates, including 666 girls and 623 boys, will be accommodated at the designated sites.

Guingan detailed the preparations, including technical site visits, management team setups, press releases, room spraying, sanitary facility checks, and evaluations of the drinking water supply. However, challenges such as the need for cooking equipment, storage facilities, and fence construction at the Ro Provincial High School remain.

The future conscripts are required to bring a kit consisting of clothing, sportswear, a mat, a blanket, toiletries, a hygiene kit, a notebook, pens, a health record, and identification. The session concluded with a voluntary collection raising 102,500 FCFA, with authorities calling for further solidarity to ensure the success of this educational and civic initiative.
