Ouagadougou: Apollinaire Oudraogo was elected on Thursday as president of the Barsalogho Municipal Youth Advisory Council (CCCJ) following a vote held in the town hall meeting room, in the presence of municipal authorities. Trained as a nurse, the new president expressed his gratitude to the young people who placed their trust in him.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Oudraogo was elected over eight other candidates and will lead a seven-member executive committee for a two-year term. He emphasized his commitment to resilience, solidarity, and patriotic activities, urging the youth to support the new committee to ensure its mission's success.

The first vice-president of the Barsalogho Special Communal Delegation, Adama Oudraogo, expressed satisfaction with the election's smooth conduct. He noted that previous elections were often marked by tensions and praised the maturity displayed by the youth throughout the process.

Adama Oudraogo encouraged the youth to maintain unity and fully engage in addressing the challenges facing the commune's young residents. The establishment of the Barsalogho Municipal Youth Advisory Council aims to provide a formal framework for consultation, representation, and participation in local development efforts.
