Ouagadougou: The municipality of Mogtdo validated its community development and investment plan (PDIC) on Tuesday, during a workshop dedicated to the presentation of the summary of the diagnosis, the examination of amendments and the adoption of the document.
According to Burkina Information Agency, presiding over the proceedings, the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune of Mogtdo, MN Abdoulaye Kanazo, welcomed the participants before inviting them to examine the document objectively in order to reach a consensual and inclusive plan. The PDS highlighted that the document is the result of a study conducted with various components of the community, stressing the importance of validation that aligns with the population's concerns and aspirations, to provide the municipality with a strategic development tool.
Following the presentation of the diagnostic summary, participants engaged in discussions about the document's content through clarifying questions, observations, and proposed amendments, which contributed to enriching the plan prior to its adoption.
The representative from the consulting firm elaborated that the study was conducted using a participatory approach involving local communities, decentralized state technical services, and documentary research. The assessment covered aspects such as climate, vegetation, demographics, hydrography, ethnic groups and religious affiliations, basic social services, production sectors, the environment, and road infrastructure.
The development of the Community Development and Investment Plan was supported financially by the mining company Orezone, a partner of the municipality in implementing actions aimed at local development.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants validated the document, setting it as a reference framework for planning community investments and development actions in the municipality of Mogtdo.
