JSK’s Football Holiday Camp Concludes with Community Engagement and Sportsmanship

Ouagadougou: The Koubri Youth Sports Association (JSK) concluded its football summer camp on Sunday after a month of activities that provided 52 children with sports and civic education. The ceremony was presided over by the representative of the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Koubri municipality, Comrade Issaka Oudraogo. Also present at the event were the head of the departmental youth and sports service, Comrade Martin Damani, His Majesty Naba Kangr, chief of the Koubri canton, sports officials, parents, and numerous guests.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the camp, organized by the promoter of JSK, Comrade Madi Zoungrana, aimed to offer young people a framework for learning the fundamentals of football while instilling civic and citizen values in them. For a month, participants alternated training sessions with presentations focusing on civic responsibility, patriotism, respect for the elderly, road safety, and the rules of living together.

The closing ceremony featured several activities, including a gala match that pitted former football stars from Koubri against those from Bassemyam Espoir Club (BEC), a partner club of JSK. Played in a spirit of fraternity and fair play, the match ended in a one-goal draw, reflecting the level of play and the sporting spirit that prevailed throughout the confrontation.

In the youth category, members of Jeunesse Sportive de Koubri prevailed against Bassemyam Espoir Club with a score of 2 goals to 0, confirming the progress made during this training session. A certificate of participation was given to the 52 participants, in recognition of their attendance, commitment, and efforts during the camp.

The promoter of JSK expressed satisfaction with the success of this first edition, emphasizing the ambition to train not only good footballers but also responsible, disciplined, and patriotic citizens. The PDS representative commended the initiative, highlighting its contribution to guiding young people and promoting social cohesion through sport.

This initiative by the Koubri Sports Youth aligns with the objective of promoting grassroots sport and civic education, with the ambition of preparing a new generation capable of raising the torch of Burkina Faso on the African and international stage.
