Ouagadougou: The mobile clinic of the Kaya Regional Hospital screens 128 women in Pissila: The Kaya Regional Hospital Center (CHR) deployed its mobile clinic in the commune of Pissila, marking a significant first in the region. This initiative allowed 128 women to benefit from free screenings for breast and cervical cancers, an essential step in early detection and treatment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the campaign was organized in collaboration with the Pissila Medical Centre and the Association of Young People Committed to Community Health of Kuilse (AJESC-KLS). It offered mammograms, gynecological consultations, and screenings for precancerous lesions of the cervix. Dr. Patenema Zabre, a gynecologist at the Kaya Regional Hospital, emphasized the importance of early detection, stating that treatment is more effective when cancers are diagnosed in their early stages.

The initiative was met with appreciation by the local community. Mariam Mande, nee Sawadogo, president of the women's association of the commune, expressed her gratitude, noting that this campaign enables women to identify potential health issues early and seek necessary treatment. Josephine Bargo, nee Ouedraogo, echoed these sentiments, expressing her gratitude for the availability of these free examinations.

Simon Nabaloum, the first vice-president of the Pissila Municipal Special Delegation, also welcomed the mobile clinic's presence, underscoring the peace and stability in the municipality that allowed such an event to take place. The one-day campaign successfully screened 128 women, with 58 receiving mammograms and 70 undergoing screening for precancerous cervical lesions.
