Ouagadougou: The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Burkina Faso celebrated on Thursday, July 30 in Ouagadougou, the 27th anniversary of the accession to the Throne of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, where Moroccan and Burkinabe authorities praised the excellence of bilateral relations, marked by a convergence of views on major regional, continental and international issues, AIB noted.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Burkina Faso, Mr. Youssef Slaoui, emphasized the high quality of bilateral relations between the two nations, distinguished by shared perspectives on issues of common interest within various international bodies. Mr. Slaoui highlighted the significance of the year 2025 as a pivotal moment for strengthening cooperation, with the upcoming 5th session of the Joint Cooperation Commission scheduled for December 10 in Ouagadougou, co-chaired by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both countries.
The biennial meeting aims to bolster the sectoral partnership and finalize several legal instruments reflecting a mutual commitment to deepen collaboration. Mr. Slaoui noted that cooperation spans numerous strategic areas, including the exchange of expertise, defense and security, vocational training, agriculture, trade, and infrastructure, among others.
Burkinabe Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karamoko Jean Marie Traore, commended the robust friendship between Burkina Faso and Morocco, which is evidenced by consistent political dialogue and tangible cooperation outcomes benefiting their populations. Celebrating sixty years of diplomatic relations, the two countries are focused on enhancing their partnership through result-oriented diplomacy and mutually advantageous development.
The commemorative event was attended by distinguished guests, including the Minister of War and Patriotic Defense, ambassadors from friendly nations, as well as administrative, municipal, and religious leaders. The ceremony concluded with Ambassador Slaoui and Minister Traore cutting a birthday cake, symbolizing the strong ties of friendship and cooperation between the two states.
