Ouagadougou: A benevolent individual donates equipment worth 9 million CFA francs to the health and security services. Traditional healer Adja Bibata Sawadogo of Basnam donated equipment worth over 9,500,000 CFA francs to the health and security services of Zondoma province. The donation ceremony took place on Wednesday, July 28, 2026, in Gourcy, presided over by High Commissioner Aboubacar Sidiki Nab©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation included mattresses, pharmaceuticals, executive chairs, lighting equipment, office supplies, spare parts, and lubricants. The equipment, valued at 9,500,000 CFA francs, was officially handed over in the presence of key figures from the province of Zondoma.
For the donor Adja Bibata Sawadogo, a native of the village of Basnam in the commune of Gourcy, this gesture aims to relieve patients on the one hand and to improve the working conditions of the security agents who sacrifice themselves in difficult conditions for the safety of the population. 'I was able to personally observe the conditions in which women stay in the most important health center in our province. That is why I did not hesitate to make this contribution in order to improve, even if only slightly, the conditions for receiving patients in these places,' said Adja Bibata to justify her action.
Before the official handover of the equipment, the High Commissioner of the Zondoma province, Aboubacar Sidiki Nab©, expressed his gratitude to the donor who, according to him, had just performed a civic and patriotic act. According to him, this action, which perfectly aligns with the vision of the Popular Progressive Revolution, corresponds to the real needs expressed by the relevant services. "I call upon all the sons and daughters of Zondoma to follow suit, to commit themselves to driving the development we seek from within," he stated.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, the Provincial Director of the National Police in Zondoma, Salif Yerbanga, expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of this equipment, which is of vital importance to their work. "We thank Adja for this timely donation," he declared, while pledging to ensure its proper use.
The Gourcy health district, the provincial directorates in charge of the environment and the national police, and the gendarmerie brigades of Tougo and Boussou each received their share of equipment at the end of the ceremony. Well known for her generosity, Adja Bibata is not making the first such gesture to benefit the local population.
