Noumbiel Municipality of Legmoin Hosts Traditional Flag-Raising Ceremony

Noumbiel: The municipality of Legmoin hosted, on Monday, August 3, 2026, the traditional monthly ceremony of raising the national colors. The raising of the colors is a highly civic and republican act which embodies the fundamental values of citizenship, unity, and sovereignty. It is now a custom when every first Monday of the month is a very special day for the national colors.

According to Burkina Information Agency, today, the honor fell to the prefect, president of the special delegation of the commune of Legmoin, Comrade Bia Dieudonn© Ouaro, to welcome the delegation of constituted bodies of the province for this solemn ceremony. After his welcoming remarks, the host presented an envelope containing 105,000 FCFA, raised by the municipality as part of the patriotic immersion of high school graduates from the region.

The flag-raising ceremony is a special moment to strengthen civic responsibility, encourage citizen engagement, and convey the month's priorities, explained High Commissioner Drissa Hema. After paying a heartfelt tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), the province's top official also urged the population to succeed in the agricultural campaign in order to contribute to food self-sufficiency.
