Gendarmerie Assumes Security Responsibilities in Korsimoro from Police After 42 Years

Ouagadougou: The Gendarmerie officially takes over from the Police in Korsimoro after 42 years of presence: The Korsimoro territorial gendarmerie brigade officially took over from the Korsimoro district police station on Tuesday, during a handover ceremony marking the reorganization of the security system in the municipality. After forty-two years of service to the population, the Korsimoro district police station has given way to the territorial gendarmerie brigade.

According to Burkina Information Agency, presiding over the ceremony, the president of the Special Delegation of the municipality of Korsimoro, Moumini Sodr©, proceeded with the official installation of the territorial gendarmerie brigade. He urged the new security officials to carry out their mission with professionalism, impartiality, and in strict compliance with the laws and regulations of the Republic.

The new commander of the Korsimoro territorial gendarmerie brigade, Chief Warrant Officer Albert Drabo, reassured everyone about the continuity of missions to secure people and property. "We are seeking the support of the people in order to succeed in the mission assigned to us," he said, stressing the importance of collaboration between the security forces and citizens.

The outgoing police commissioner, Bounkat© Dah, expressed his gratitude to the people and constituted bodies of Korsimoro for their support and collaboration shown during the forty-two years of police presence in the commune. This handover of services between the Police and the Gendarmerie is part of the reorganization of internal security forces aimed at strengthening security coverage and the protection of people and their property.
