Ouagadougou: The launch of the first Faso Mªbo holiday camp, aimed at children aged 10 to 15, is set to begin on August 13, 2026. This announcement was made during the monthly flag-raising ceremony, overseen by the Governor of the Liptako region, Comrade Abdoul Karim Zongo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the commander of the fourth military region, Battalion Chief Amadou Sanou, revealed that the camp is an educational and civic program designed for Burkinabe children and adolescents. The initiative focuses on instilling civic-mindedness, patriotism, discipline, and civic engagement among young people during their school holidays.

The flag-raising ceremony was also an opportunity for Governor Zongo to highlight the achievements and activities accomplished in July 2026. He mentioned several key initiatives, including the launch of mandatory patriotic immersion for new high school graduates, efforts to revive the dairy sector, the start of the national reforestation campaign, and the commemoration of the Day of the African Child.

Governor Zongo also outlined other significant developments, such as the session of the Regional Committee for Epidemic Management (CRGE), the appointment of regional representatives to the Board of Directors of the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC), and an orientation day for new high school graduates.

The governor further noted the visit to Dori by the Minister of Security, Comrade Mahamadou Sana, which featured the inauguration of the Regional Judicial Police Service (SRPJ) and the Liptako Regional Child Protection Brigade. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in their operations to supply, reconquer, and secure the territory.
