Ouagadougou: The Association for the Development of Culture and Tourism of Bobo-Dioulasso (ADCT-B) officially launched a training session aimed at enhancing the skills of room attendants in the city's hotel complexes. This initiative is designed to improve service quality offered to visitors and bolster the city's appeal as a tourist destination.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony was presided over by the association's president, Comrade P©lagie Traor©/Sonda, who highlighted Bobo-Dioulasso's reputation for cultural richness, history, and hospitality. She emphasized that the quality of a guest's welcome is significantly influenced by the professionalism of the room attendants responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the accommodations.
Comrade Traor© described room attendants as "one of the invisible pillars of a hotel's reputation," noting their crucial role in ensuring the hygiene, comfort, and health safety of guests. She remarked that an immaculate room and impeccable hygiene can convey far more than any advertisement.
In response to evolving customer demands and international standards in the hotel sector, Comrade Traor© stated that the training will provide participants with modern cleaning techniques, professional best practices, eco-responsible maintenance skills, and tools to enhance customer relations.
She further highlighted the importance of recognizing the profession of room attendants, asserting that their work directly contributes to visitor satisfaction and the local economy's growth through tourism.
Comrade Traor© also commended the dedication of the trainers sharing their expertise and the hotel managers who have chosen to invest in strengthening their staff's capabilities. She encouraged the beneficiaries to engage actively in the training discussions and apply the knowledge gained.
