Nahouri/Civic Duty: The People of Guiaro Are Mobilizing to Rehabilitate the Guiaro-Saro Road

Ouagadougou: The people of the commune of Guiaro mobilized on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, to rehabilitate the Guiaro-Saro road, which is about ten kilometers long and has been severely damaged by the rains.

According to Burkina Information Agency, faced with the severe deterioration of the Guiaro-Saro road following the rains of the winter season, the people of the commune of Guiaro, located about thirty kilometers west of P´, mobilized on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, to rehabilitate this 10 km long road. This effort was in response to the call of the President of the special delegation (PDS), Monique Bazie.

Supported by the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP), the teams on site deployed significant logistical resources, including tricycles and tractors, to transport and place the loose stones to fill in the large potholes that have become a real cause of accidents lately.

For the PDS, this community momentum reflects a fundamental principle: the building of the nation remains a collective responsibility. Ms. Bazie reminded everyone that while waiting for the effective deployment of the Faso Mªbo program in the region, which was officially launched last week in Nazinon, every citizen must contribute to opening up and developing their locality.

"This day of citizen action is only a first step; other sanitation and rehabilitation operations for roads and tracks will be scheduled on other sections of the municipality in the coming days," the municipal authority indicated.
