Kompienga: The Kompienga municipal citizen watch coordination carried out an outing in several fields of the commune of Pama, this Sunday, August 16, 2026, to observe the progress of the 2026 agricultural campaign, marked by the expansion of cultivated areas and good progress in crops. The Kompienga municipal citizen watch coordination expressed its satisfaction following its visit to several fields in the municipality, where it noted an encouraging development in crops.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the coordination noted an increase in cultivated areas compared to previous years, during which insecurity had considerably reduced the arable land accessible to producers. Souglimpo Onadja, a member of the citizen watch group, attributed this improvement to the efforts to recapture the territory led by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).
Onadja also highlighted the support provided to producers through the provision of a tractor, agricultural inputs, and assistance from technical services, as part of the agricultural offensive. The municipal coordination of citizen monitoring welcomed the government's support and called for the strengthening of support measures for producers, particularly for market gardening activities whose start is imminent.
The coordination recalled that the Kompienga province has long been considered one of the agricultural breadbaskets of Burkina Faso and intends to contribute to the revival of this vocation.
