Hanoi: Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean Marie Traor called on young people called up for mandatory patriotic immersion in Manga on Sunday to become ambassadors of patriotic values at the end of their stay, urging them to be "dignified, proud, and upright sons and daughters of the country who always proudly carry the banners of their country."
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Burkinabe foreign minister was speaking during a visit to the patriotic immersion sites of the Manga regional vocational high school and the Naaba Baongo provincial high school. "From the moment you leave this site, you become ambassadors," said the Comrade Minister, inviting the conscripts to pass on the values acquired to their families, their loved ones and, tomorrow, in the universities and professional circles they will frequent. Traor emphasized that patriotism should not be limited to speeches, but should be reflected in one's character and daily actions, stating, "We must feel Burkina Faso, not just in the speeches, but in your character, in what you do, in what you are."
In the pouring rain, the ministerial delegation went to meet the 462 conscripts from the regional vocational high school site and the 293 conscripts from the Naaba Baongo provincial high school. The purpose of the visit was to inquire about the living and learning conditions of the participants and to encourage them to fully engage in this civic experience, in order to internalize the principles and values being taught to them.
The delegation spoke with the conscripts and the support teams, before visiting the premises and sharing a meal with the young people. At both sites, the minister and his delegation noted the commitment of the conscripts as well as the dedication of the supervisory teams, mobilized to make immersion a framework for learning, sharing and strengthening patriotic spirit and attachment to the nation.
"We leave with a renewed sense of pride, because we have seen graduates who are completely transformed as a result of the guidance and the time they spent together. The interactions between recruits and between recruits and supervisors have strengthened the spirit of civic duty and their connection with the homeland," said Karamoko Jean Marie Traor. He congratulated the young people, the management teams and the regional authorities for their mobilization in support of the success of the initiative.
On this occasion, the minister recalled the message of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor, according to which "nations are built in order, discipline and on patriotic convictions." The Nazinon region has four training sites hosting a total of 2,074 conscripts as part of the mandatory patriotic immersion program for the year 2026. The visit concluded with a tree planting.
