Hanoi: The women of the Union of Women's Groups/Cwe Dwan Nye (UGF/CDN), led by their coordinator, Bayom Bationo, have taken an active role in the ongoing construction at the Faso Mªbo site in Ro. On Tuesday, they set aside their daily routines to join hands with other workers, contributing to the city's development.
According to Burkina Information Agency, these women are not merely observing the national initiative but are deeply involved in the building activities. With tools in hand, they are working alongside professional builders to advance Burkina Faso's infrastructure projects. UGF/CDN accountant, Marguerite Kansol, expressed a sense of pride in being Burkinabe, emphasizing the importance of contributing to their homeland's progress.
Kansol and her colleagues view their involvement as a catalyst to inspire fellow women to join the cause. She noted that the turnout at the site is only a fraction of UGF/CDN's actual membership, emphasizing the need to motivate all members and others to participate actively.
The construction site not only demands manpower but also requires adequate equipment, a need highlighted by Aim Bassol, the sector manager at L'UGF/CDN. Bassol underscored the importance of local involvement in building Sangui, insisting that the responsibility lies with its own people. He called on residents, regardless of their location, to support the effort through equipment, materials, or donations.
This initiative by the women of UGF/CDN reflects a growing belief among stakeholders that national development should not solely depend on the government but also necessitates the active participation of the citizenry.
