Fada N'Gourma:The Kupiendieli Regional Vocational High School has introduced a new vocational studies diploma (BEP) program in agri-food for the 2026-2027 school year, marking a first for both the commune and the region. This initiative aims to bolster training in the production and processing of agricultural products.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the program, which was officially announced in September 2026, has enrolled thirty-two candidates. It focuses on processing tomatoes, onions, millet, and corn as part of its curriculum.
Established in 2021 by the Regional Council, the high school was created to cater to training needs in agri-food, agroforestry, tourism, and hospitality. Previously, the school mainly offered G1 and G2 educational tracks, but with the new agri-food track, it is expanding its offerings to meet regional demands.
The school's headmaster, Abdoulaye Zall, highlighted the institution's impressive results over the past few years. In 2024, the school achieved pass rates of 85.96% in Terminale G1 and 89.5% in Terminale G2, with G1 students winning first prize nationally. In 2025, pass rates were 76.74% for Terminale G1 and 77.1% for Terminale G2, which secured third prize nationally. In 2026, the school reported success rates of 83.33% in Terminale G1 and 66.16% in Terminale G2, with G1 earning the fourth national prize.
To support the school's development, the headmaster is seeking assistance from local residents and partners. Key needs include hiring specialist teachers, acquiring laboratory equipment, and securing a site of at least 10 hectares for practical activities.
Looking ahead, the high school plans to introduce courses in agroforestry, tourism, and hospitality to further align with the region's economic needs.
