Ouagadougou: The inter-village tournament of the commune of Dolo was officially launched on Saturday, August 22, 2026, with the participation of 12 teams, with the aim of promoting social cohesion, fraternity, and living together among the populations. The launch ceremony was presided over by the prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Dolo, Ilassa Oudraogo, in the presence of administrative, customary and religious authorities, leaders of the participating villages, coaches, players, and a highly mobilized public.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in the opening match, the Toundia team won against Guilgbiko FC with a score of 3 goals to 0. Beyond the sporting aspect, the tournament aims to be a forum for reunions and closer ties between the people of the different villages in the municipality. It also intends to contribute to strengthening social cohesion through the values ??of solidarity, fraternity, discipline, and fair play.

The various speakers urged the teams and supporters to use this competition as an opportunity to strengthen social bonds. “While the teams compete on the field, the competition must in no way be a source of division among the people,” insisted PDS Ilassa Oudraogo. With 12 teams involved, the tournament also provides a platform for the youth of Dolo to express themselves, showcasing their sporting talents while promoting values ??of peace, respect, and living together.

The final of this competition is scheduled for September 19, 2026. The organizers hope that beyond the sporting result, the tournament will leave behind a legacy of strengthened ties between the different communities of the municipality.
