Ouagadougou: The Nazoanga Schoolchildren and Workers Association (ASTN) celebrated the closing of its activities on Saturday, August 29, under the banner of social cohesion, AIB observed. The ceremony was held under the chairmanship of the prefect/PDS of the Commune of Nanoro, Nourou Guiguimd.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony featured several activities, including a fruit tree reforestation session in households and public spaces within the village. The association also conducted a sweeping operation at the CSPS courtyard in Nazoanga, targeting the destruction of larval breeding grounds and other mosquito habitats.

Continuing its commitment to community health, the association donated equipment, bins, and hygiene kits to the village health facility to support adequate care for the sick. In the afternoon, the ASTN concluded its activities with a maracana football grand final, where FC Yilli, dressed in yellow and green, faced FC Zaton, clad in black and white. After a penalty shootout, Yilli FC emerged victorious with a 2-0 win.

For their triumph, Yilli FC received the trophy, a set of jerseys, a ball, and a cash prize of 20,000 F. Meanwhile, FC Zaton was awarded a ball, a set of jerseys, and 15,000 F. Fran§ois Kientega, the president of ASTN, expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the event's success. He urged the community to maintain unity and continue the momentum of village development, emphasizing the importance of caring for the donated trees to foster a healthy environment.

Kientega extended his appreciation to administrative and village authorities for their support and appealed for continued collaboration in future endeavors to make ASTN a hub of communal development. PDS Guiguimd commended the association's efforts, highlighting their significance in laying the groundwork for development. He promised ongoing support for initiatives that enhance the well-being of the Nanoro commune's population.
