According to Burkina Information Agency, with the arrival of the rainy season, the Forces of Evil believed they were safe thanks to the abundant vegetation in some theaters of combat. However, the vigilance of the lookouts and the determination of the forces to locate enemies even in their final entrenchments proved crucial. On August 24, the special intervention group of the 23rd BIR engaged with an enemy in the Bangossogo area, neutralizing dozens of criminals and recovering equipment.
This offensive followed a particularly active period starting August 20. In the Welguimsifou area, the 30th BIR ambushed fleeing criminals who abandoned their logistics. On the same day, the 18th BIR subdued criminals in Gama, while the 28th BIR, on a reconnaissance mission in Arbinda, encountered an enemy who chose to flee. Similarly, the 9th BIR engaged with the enemy on the Gorom-Gorom axis, highlighting multiple engagements on various fronts.
Earlier, on August 18, the shadow unit conducted an infiltration in the Bokou area, neutralizing several criminals and recovering equipment. On August 17, the 9th BIR initiated hostilities in the Samboye area against a group of criminals, continuing a series of proactive engagements.
The string of operations began on August 10 in the Bankui region. Combat Forces detected a large group of criminals from the north targeting Kiembara. Upon alerting air assets, strikes were carried out against entrenched attackers in a dense forest. The following day, units from the 23rd BIR and the Gomboro detachment, along with the VDP, swept the area for any remaining enemy equipment.
On August 9, the 27th BIR assaulted a terrorist position in Diapaga, resulting in the neutralization of several dozen criminals and equipment recovery. Similar proactive measures were taken on August 7 in Gomboro, where forces promptly reacted to approaching criminals.
August 5 marked a decisive day in the Soum region, specifically in Djibo, where a large number of criminals attempted to breach security measures. Alerted aerial vehicles effectively struck the attackers, resulting in surviving criminals being apprehended and treated. Ground forces recovered remaining usable enemy equipment.
The series of operations commenced on August 2, under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Captain Ibrahim Traor. These efforts aim to consolidate gains and ensure the safety of the population.
