Ouagadougou: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Ramongo celebrated academic excellence on Saturday, August 29, through a ceremony to reward the best students and actors in the education system, at the Ramongo-Tanguen A school.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event brought together students, parents, teachers, CEB partners, administrative, religious, and customary authorities, as well as representatives from Bobo-Dioulasso, Koudougou, and Ouagadougou. The ceremony commenced with the national anthem performed in the Moor language.
Lassan Tond, the municipal president of the School Council, welcomed the participants and praised CEB for organizing the event. Wendtenda Paul Marie Zoma, the head of the Basic Education District, expressed gratitude towards the community for their support and congratulated both the award winners and the partners involved in the organization. He highlighted the district's notable performance, with a 97.95% success rate in the CEP and 96.77% in the certification exam.
Kouna Yvette Sar, head of the special delegation, acknowledged the contributions of all stakeholders in the education system and extended special thanks to the sons and daughters of Ramongo for their support in communal development. A letter of congratulations from the Special Delegation was also presented to the CCEB.
The rewards distributed during the ceremony included a motorcycle, a computer, a tablet, bicycles, school kits, cash prizes, plants, and certificates. The top five students from each class, CP1 to CM2, received school kits, while the top boy and girl from CE2 to CM2 each received a bicycle.
Six teachers were also honored, with Bado/Kando Dyrgath Flicit, the best teacher at CEB achieving a 100% success rate with 50 candidates, receiving a motorcycle alongside her certificate of recognition. Additionally, 17 schools which achieved a 100% success rate were awarded certificates.
The AMREF association recognized the top students from the four schools it sponsors, and MEPAP pledged to provide bicycles and school supplies, and support two disabled students from first grade (CP1) until the final year of primary school (CM2).
One of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude on behalf of the award winners to CEB officials, partners, and municipal authorities. Armand Ouattara, the representative of the ceremony's patron, and sponsor Boureima Kabor, encouraged all involved to sustain the momentum of excellence.
The ceremony was enlivened with entertainment, and partners were also presented with certificates of recognition. This edition was themed: "School excellence: foundation of sovereignty and lever of endogenous development".
