Zondoma Youth Encouraged to Enhance Commitment to Sovereign Confederation

Ouagadougou: The Zondoma Provincial Directorate of Sports, Youth and Employment commemorated International Youth Day (IYD) in Gourcy with a focus on youth engagement in building a sovereign confederal space. The event, which took place on Friday, August 28, 2026, featured a panel discussion and an aerobics session, emphasizing the theme: "Role, Responsibility and Commitment of Burkinab Youth in Building a Sovereign Confederal Space."

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event aimed to celebrate the resilience of young people and provide them a forum to discuss their roles and responsibilities in the development of a sovereign confederation. The High Commissioner of Zondoma province, Aboubacar Sidiki Nab, led the event, which gathered administrative and customary authorities along with young people from various communes for discussions on revolutionary ideals, civic duty, and patriotism.

Chief Naaba Piiga of Bascorma initiated the dialogue by sharing his experiences on revolutionary ideals, stressing the importance of learning from the commitment of past generations. Alouna Traor, Special Advisor for Youth at the Presidency of Burkina Faso, further elaborated on revolutionary life, helping participants understand the realities of revolutionary engagement.

Filmmaker Rasmane Oudraogo, known as "Raso", contributed to the session by discussing patriotism and civic duty, emphasizing the role and responsibility of youth in supporting the revolution. High Commissioner Nab urged young people to embrace their responsibilities and take concrete actions to serve the community and the nation.

The discussions highlighted the importance of youth involvement in national life through civic engagement, patriotism, and participation in development actions. The event concluded with an aerobics session, providing a moment of relaxation and cohesion for participants.
