Ouagadougou: A group of gold miners presented a donation worth 200,000 CFA francs to the gendarmerie brigade in Tougo, Zondoma province, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The donation consisted of four 50 kg bags of rice and an envelope containing 100,000 CFA francs.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Boureima Souley, President of the Special Delegation (PDS), stated that this donor initiative is undoubtedly a demonstration of patriotism that deserves to be recognized for its true worth. He mentioned that it aligns with the directives of the highest authorities in the country, who encourage every citizen to contribute, according to their means, to the development of Burkina Faso. "Everyone, according to their means, should be able to contribute to the development of our country," he noted.
Upon receiving the donation, the deputy brigade commander of the Tougo gendarmerie, Adama Coulibaly, expressed his gratitude to the donors and wished them continued prosperity. "We thank the donors for this gesture. We pray that their businesses prosper so they can further support the administrative services," he stated.
"This is just the beginning. We will always support the gendarmerie if our resources allow," reassured the donors' representative, Idrissa Oudraogo, for whom this contribution represents a first step.
As a reminder, the Tougo brigade also received on August 7th a computer equipment kit and a sum of money from a local gold miner.
