Ouagadougou: The Guiriko region, known as the 'land of industry, labor and opportunities', celebrated on Wednesday as it became the host of the Burkina Faso Armed Forces Textile Industrial Complex (TEXFORCES-BF). The region's governor, Mariama Konat/Gnanou, expressed her delight at the inauguration ceremony.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor, officiated the inauguration of the TEXFORCES-BF in L´g´fourousso, located near Bobo-Dioulasso. This event marks a significant development for the region, which has been chosen to house this industrial initiative.
Governor Mariama Konat/Gnanou thanked President Traor for selecting her region for this "industrial gift." She emphasized that the decision reinforces the belief in Guiriko as a hub of industry, hard work, and opportunity. She affirmed the region's pride and commitment to uphold the honor bestowed upon them.
Comrade Konat/Gnanou highlighted that this initiative signifies the development of Burkina Faso beyond its capital, extending into every region and city where citizens reside and strive for progress. She remarked on the historical significance, noting that under President Traor's leadership, Burkina Faso has acquired a facility capable of clothing both its Defense and Security Forces as well as the civilian population, starting in the Guiriko region.
She further reflected on the rapid completion of TEXFORCES-BF, attributing it to political will, commitment, and determination. Projects, when approached with these values, transition from intentions to tangible realities serving the populace.
Konat/Gnanou concluded by invoking the spirit of the popular progressive revolution, emphasizing self-reliance, determination, and building the tools necessary for development and sovereignty.
